ABOUT WEAP TRAINING

WEAP as Training Organization / Institution

The Water Environment Association of the Philippines, Inc. (WEAP), enter into a Memorandum of Undertaking (MWU) with the different DENR Environmental Management Bureau (EMB) Regional Offices to collaborate and be partners to improve compliance in promoting the objectives of PEPP, in particular by promoting the concepts and tools of EMS, WM and P2/CP, and by jointly facilitating participative processes in the preparation of PEPP and IEWP’s rules and regulations.

WEAP as co-convenor with DENR-EMB in organizing seminars, training and workshops with local industry groups and other stakeholders for the purpose of reviewing EMB’s proposed implementing rules and regulations for the PEPP and in promoting new legislations, policies, laws and technologies.

WEAP has been conducting trainings for Pollution Control Officers (PCOs) since 2011 by virtue of a Memorandum of Undertaken (MOU) between EMB and WEAP. In compliance with Section 13 of the DENR Department Administrative Order (DAO) 2014-02, WEAP applied for accreditation as Training Organization/Institution, thus given the following Certificate of Accreditation (COR).

CONTINUING EDUCATION / TECHNICAL COMMITTEE

In order to implement effective training classes, WEAP created a dedicated committee that is in-charge of all the requirements, documentation, preparation of modules including marketing materials and other collaterals, coordination with various offices/agencies (private and government) relative to the conduct of training programs.

The training committee make it sure that at the end of each training program, the participants will be properly equipped with more knowledge and tools and carrying out the Pollution Control Officers (PCO) respective roles.
